After Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, head coach Dave Canales was asked if he may bench quarterback Bryce young and play Andy Dalton and replied, “Bryce is our quarterback.”
Canales has reputedly changed his thoughts.
In line with Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Panthers are benching young to begin Dalton — starting with this week’s matchup towards the Raiders.
Young, the No. 1 pick of the 2023 draft, has appeared overmatched in his first two starts offevolved of the season. He has completed just fifty five.Four percentage of his throws for 245 yards with three interceptions.
His passer rating is forty four.1 and he’s averaging just 4.Four yards in step with a try.
Ultimate season, young completed 2-14 as a starter, having finished 59.8 percentage of his throws for two,877 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Coincidentally, younger did not play in ultimate 12 months’s Week 3 game both, as Dalton made his most effective begin of 2023 against the Seahawks.
Dalton, 36, finished fifty eight.6 percent of his throws for 361 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in 3 appearances for the Panthers remaining 12 months.
Back in 2022, Dalton completed with a 66.7 percentage completion fee, throwing for 2,871 yards with 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions for the Saints.
