McCalmont initially signed for Carlisle in January 2023 on loan from Leeds United before agreeing a permanent move last summer.
The 24-year-old played 54 times for Paul Simpson’s side. He scored four goals as the Cumbrians were promoted out of League Two via the play-offs at Wembley, but they were relegated at the first attempt.
